Community Altar
Alphabet Alliance of Color deeply values maintaining relationships with our transcestors. We make an effort to have a physical altar space at all of our major events to honor our community members that are no longer physically with us, but we wanted to create an inclusive and accessible digital space for folks to do the same virtually. In this interactive digital altar space, we encourage those in our AAoC community to honor those who have passed from wherever they are.
This digital altar space is interactive! Folks are encouraged to add photos of the individuals they’re honoring and place items such as flowers, incense, and candles on the altar. Using the comment function, you can also tell stories and respond to other people’s comments - this is a communal space. This altar is meant specifically for folks in our AAoC community to honor QTBIPOC that they have known and loved.
